hungry?
Another tee today where the back is as interesting as the front - if not moreso. Flying mouths from Johnny Cupcakes. It’s like an endless chase around your torso. The cupcake looks genuinely frightened! Not bad for a cupcake.

You know they like their cupcakes for real too:

Table manners could be better! I like the crossbones tee too. Johnny Cupcakes >
birds on little paper planes
Little paper planes is one of the most satisfying shirt sites to just rummage around in. It has a really personal, relaxed, but exciting feel - like something great could be just around the hyperlink. A couple of interesting bird related shirts caught my eye today.

Crow has a crow on the back. Simple as that. Good fun, in a dark harbinger of doom kind of way. Interesting print techniques along with the designs make these shirts pretty interesting. Artists galore too, so styles are very varied, always something new to like (or not).

Bird on wire has more crows, but they are further away. You could wear this, with a friend in the background wearing crow, take a photo, and look like part of your tshirt landed on him.
Paper planes is more than just tees though - check out the Blog Kelly runs for interesting bits and pieces around art, prints, fashion and tees. Typical post here.
soliloquy - so lee low qway
“Just a small company with the aim of creating thought provoking designs…trying to help change the way a few people look at the world..” Indeed. No sweatshops? check! Fairtrade? check! Organic? check! Environmentally friendly ink? check! Never eat at McDonalds? check! (actually, I made that last one up, but I bet it’s true - these guys have taste!). Full scoop here.

Another great feature of the site is the model pics. The locations are just the best! So British and autumnal! Local is the new global as Tom @ soliloquy says.
Check the tees here.
Kotton Shirts
Another German startup tee company that Markus found for us, Kotton Shirts is producing some interesting shirts.

The first shirt “monstabash soundmachine” is two-color printed in the front and one-color printed in the back, high quality silk-screened. Kotton use only use shirts from american apparel, which we all know and love.

Not enough shirts have a backprint in my opinion. I know it’s a cost thing, but I just like ‘em. This upcoming tape design is one of the nicest executions of the ‘retro tape nation’ idea I’ve seen.

The process at Kotton is quite interesting and ‘workshoppy’ too. Matthias at Kotton says “all designs from KOTTON are test-printed by myself in a little printing-work i got acces to. the photos of the shirts that are online now are fotos of the test-prints. after the tests i correct the design (optimize it) until its good enought for the professional print”

Interesting halftoney, textural, slightly abstract designs on quality tees. Kotton are probably worth bookmarking. The flash site is excellent, enguaging, and full to the ebrim with hi res photography of the shirts. An RSS feed would be nice though!
The site is in German, but I’m sure they’ll be happy to take orders in English via email if you find the site too scary.
Visit Kotton here, and see the portfolio site of designer Matthias here.
lucky pups
At $35 a pop these aren’t cheap tees, but they do kinda rule all the same. I love the cute gross out of this shirt. Puppies are adorable aren’t they. But don’t they turn into zombies if they eat human bones? Oh No! We’re all doooomed. From without pockets.
Funda mental
“The shirt you’ve all been waiting for. Pat Robertson. Diagnosed on a t-shirt.” It’s not often I copy the text from a Tshirt page, but it’s not often it gets so neatly to the point. A seriously nice t-shirt. You can never fault the typography on progress shirts. Never. And they pay attention to the ladies, not just feeding them smaller guy shirts. The photography and site layout have had a recent lift as well - a seriously nice site now. Read more about Progress in this article at city paper. (I hate it when I sound all fan-boy!)
Heroes - Hurrah
Joyous shirt from NerdyShirts featuring everyones favourite ‘think hard and bend time’ face from Heroes, Hiro Nakamura. I’m not quite sure why he has to concentrate so much while the cheerleader just gets better without trying. The pink and grey makes it perfect for a slightly retro trip to the gym. Or is that just me? get it here

new shirts - bit of a worry
Excellent black (although it comes in green and red too) deathly shirt here from turtlehead. The site is well worth a rummage, and not just for the shirts. One of those tshirt companies that just floods their site with information. Great fun!

valleyschwag the second
Startup Schwag is the reincarnation of valley schwag - that great but deceased company that sent out web2.0 company tshirts, stickers, and other crap. I still use my movable type keyring, and wear my video egg shirt from carepackage 2.

Go on, sign up, $15 a month for web2.0 cool!
international standard tshirt number
A cool idea posted on inventoids.com about a way to standardise Tshirt naming - making reordering easier. Vastly complex, but quite a cool idea.
threadless $10 sale extended
Some more shirts added to the $10 threadless sale. This one makes me happy. I’m not sure why.
