Is it just me or did a depression used not to be as bad as a recession, but now it’s worse. What’s worse than a depression then? Deathresssion? Zombpression? Gotta be.
Whatever it’s called - it’s never so bad than you can’t afford $5 for a great tee. The fine folks over at Nerdy are working on something - so are flogging their old stuff for a $5. Replace a worn treasure, grab a bit of election ‘08 nostalgia cotton, or buy that shirt you aspired to when it was $12 - but your pocket money couldn’t quite stretch to.

For far too long the world of tshirt design, along with many of the other fine arts, has been bogged down by gender stereotypes and inflexibility. A scientist hell bent on decimating the world cat population you say? Must be Male. A scientist researching some esoteric property of DNA which could stop the zombies getting us? Must be female. hibiscus or poppodom?
One of the great joys of life has to be saying enjoyable words. Nature is the best source of excellent words, mainly because botanists are all drugs addled hippies with a lyrical penchent for wordplay and polysyllable funtime. Coffee varieties can be great - just say “Guatamalan Maragogype” or “Celebes Kalossi Toraja”. My personal favourite word is poppadom - see below for potentially boring poppadom spelling trivia.
My point? Well - in the garden Hibiscus is a cracking word. Hi Bi Scusssss. Delightful! Wear this shirt to have an excuse to say a lovely word more often than usual. Oh - and coolar free are doing a 28% off thing justnow. Hurrah!

The real reason for the post is to cover a couple of shirts which I like despite myself. I think it’s because they are slightly overdone basics, but with a subtle print that could be abstract to non geeks, so lend themselves to that same smug arrogance that a binary joke gives the nerdy shirt wearer.

I know these aren’t strictly tees, but sometimes out female readers need to wear something a little more subtle and … well… pretty. Lochers to the rescue.
The kind of slogans you expect to see on a screenprinted AA tee turn up embroidered into a floaty tunic top, the You Suck below is a pretty subtle example. One or two would make your mum blush! Nicely edgy. Very girly. This is the future guys!

How they do it I’m not entirely sure - but bumpnose.com are trotting out tees for $5 flat. At that price you don’t even have to think about it - do you. If everyone priced like that I’d literally be dying under a pile of shirts! I couldn’t resist. Some of the designs are a bit formulaic - but the odd stroke of genius makes them worth a visit. And man - five bucks! I mean what can you buy for five bucks.
